Giddy!

I am getting a Christmas-giddiness.  It happens around the holidays when the UPS truck starts showing up daily with gifts galore.  But, blessed as I am, I get to enjoy this sensation after markets - as the recent purchases begin to arrive in the store.  I am just posting a smattering of things here to prick your interest.  The rest, well, you will have to come in to see for yourself.  I look forward to having you in the showroom.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Market Inspiration

Market this year proved most inspiring.  On so many levels, I saw innovation and creativity.  Exciting new ideas in lighting, powerful statements in carpets, truly unique collections in accessories and an overall adherence to excellence in design.  I have always considered myself blessed to be able to work in my family's business and to carry on its traditions.  Going to market and seeing other business owners, creators and designers furthering their own dreams and expressing their own views of aesthetic wonders - well, that is just icing on the cake.

Below are some of my most treasured finds.  Many are on their way into the store as I type, others maybe a month or so behind.  But either way, I think you will find yourself inspired.

Inspiration for your tabletop.

Beauty for your bookshelf.

Simple refinement.

Easy elegance.

Where function meets fashion.

Pillows that pop.

New designs in carpets.

Innovation and affordability in lighting.

Color in the carpets!

Geometrics for the floor.

Wonderful artwork - big scale for big walls.

Simple lines for big statements.

Drama in lighting!

Silk adds depth and glamour to the floor.

Sleek, clean lines.

Freedom!

One Change at a Time

Interior Designer Kelly Jones has been quite busy over the past few years. Her design business is growing along with her expanding family. Kelly planned to renovate her home in time for the arrival of baby number three.  However, as the plans kept changing, she quickly realized the home would never be finished in time. Instead of living through a remodel with a new baby, she wisely decided to put it on hold."I couldn't wrap my head around being pregnant and trying to move my family out for a renovation at the same time. So, we are going to squeeze in and roll with it for the time being."

So for the meantime, new baby will bunk with brother and mom and dad get a master bedroom makeover.

Big Brother, John T. graciously shares his room with his brand new sibling.
I love the bright colors, the clean lines, and the maximization of space in this boy room. The simple seagrass on the floor is the perfect solution for room. (It is also extremely affordable.) I also love this Jonathan Adler Chandelier. It is available in a sconce too, which I have on the showroom floor and plan to use as a flush mount.

The orange accents pop in the crisp white room. Kelly used a Schumacher fabric (Santorini persimmon) for the patterned print and a Norbar fabric for the solid.

The "dwell inspired" transportation painting hanging over the bed and the Jack canvas over the crib was painted by local artist, Raines Thompson.

Kelly was forced to do a little re-do in the master with the purchase of a king size bed. She had a custom headboard made and upholstered in a rich velvet chartreuse and used the same fabric for the tailored bedskirt.  The chair and pillows were covered in Groundworks La Fiorentina fabric.

She used her existing shag rug, lamp and tables, but they all look completely different with new fabrics.  To tie it all together, she re-papered the bathroom (below) in Antonina Vella Paper by Seabrook style Franco.
Well done, indeed.  Thanks for sharing Kelly!
